Who We Are: W.E.E A.R Story
W.E.E.A.R is a leading provider of services to incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women in Southeast Georgia, soon to be worldwide. Focused on women and their children, we support families during a mother’s incarceration and help families get back on their feet upon release.
This organization has several programs designed to nurture kids mentally, socially, emotionally, and educationally.
For younger children, an after-school program helps them cope psychologically with the effects of having their parents imprisoned by allowing them a safe place to interact with other children in similar situations. Children who receive help from our programs will most likely not follow the cycle
Women who receive support from W.E.E A.R programs are 10 times less likely to return to prison.
